Photographic Exhibition: " LUMIERES DE L'EXIL-LIGHTS OF EXILE"

David Benaïnous is a professional photographer and a member of the French artistic press syndicate. As a photo-journalist he has reported from numerous destinations, Paris, Djerba, Jerusalem, Ethiopia and Eastern Europe amongst them. He favours a humanist approch that both incites and inspires. He followed Father Desbois as he began his trail through Eastern Europe, and in particular through Ukraine and Poland, on the quest of traces of what he has termed the "Shoah by bullet". David defines himself as a "photo-sensitive photographer". He invites us to go beyond appearance and presents us with "captions of light".In truth, this abstract photography has more in common with paintings and might in fact reveal tributes to some of the 20th century's great abstract artists. David's quest: whole artistic compositions are unveiled through our perception of the captured moment. David's sensitive perception of photography goes beyond the figurative though, and is revealed in his limitless journey through light. He leaves traditional photography to one side and reverts to capturing the light and rendering it to paper: the art of photography in its original state. 11 East 63 Street RSVP: 212 754 9555 ext 11 or alissa@ejsny.org or you@ejsny.org FREE ADMISSION TO EXHIBIT. Optional Wine Bar at 8:30pm($20). Music by Eyal Maoz.
